In 2004, The Colton Group was founded as an executive advisory firm with the slogan “Pathfinders for Growth”. The company name and slogan pays homage to Joseph Hutchins Colton, an entrepreneur and map publisher. Known professionally as J.H. Colton, he founded an American mapmaking company which became an international leader in the map publishing industry between 1831 and 1890.
